The design sensibility of this Panton Hill garden recognises the richness of form and texture of the surroundings of Kangaroo Ground and the subtlety of colour of the bush. The key to this experience was to create simplicity within the landscape and its natural setting, giving a sensation of harmony between the natural and man-made. Consequently, the residence shows how simplicity in design and well-crafted execution leave behind a sense of presence. A key feature is the platform ‘blade’ of red gravel, within an avenue of Zelkova trees, which soars out into the bush land beyond.
