Sheoak Picnic Park

Parks Victoria

Lorne Victoria · 2006

Redevelopment of an existing visitor area for Sheoak Falls Park, including replacement and upgrading of visitor picnic facilities, toilet facilities, picnic shelters, pathways and car parking. All external spaces are designed using ecologically sustainable design (ESD) and socially sustainable design (ESD) principles. Design incorporates ongoing low energy use, for durability and for adaptive re-use if necessary. The area is a hub for walking activities, with over 7 walking tracks, and benefits from the improved ‘visitor experience’ using interpretation. Visitors can enjoy and appreciate the natural and cultural values of the Park, an opportunity to appreciate the early history of the area’s settlers, the timber industry, Allenvale Farm.

The spectacular Sheoak Picnic Area has huge trees and beautiful forest scenery. It is a secluded, cool and quiet location – the ideal place to enjoy a picnic. Several walking tracks leave from here including the Canyon Loop walk, Sheoak Falls-Castle Rock walk and the Kalimna Falls walk.
